Mojo:lations - What, No Yaya (Nanny) ?
IN the Philippines, growing up with a nanny is a common occurrence. Having a yaya is a necessity for some parents and oftentimes an indispensable part of the family. However, in other countries, having a nanny is a luxury reserved for the rich and famous. In Hollywood, a hit television sitcom and film spin-off even tackled this verity. One would think that for Tinsletown's elite, employing a yaya would be the way to go. Wrong!
In today's edition of Mojo:lations, here are two star-studded examples of celebrity families that have recently announced their adoring public that a nanny-free existence is the way to go… at least for them!
J-lo a super mommy
Three months ago, Latina singer/dancer/actress Jennifer Lopez gave birth to twins with her pop-star husband Marc Anthony. Max and Emme are bouncing bundles of joy and one would think that they would be more than a handful for the star couple. But alas, Lopez says she doesn't need a nanny!
While J-lo has a reputation for being a bit of a diva and having a list of demands, it seems those days are long behind her as husband Marc Anthony has revealed they have not hired anyone to help them raise their children.
Marc Anthony admitted they are enjoying the experience of parenthood without any interference and they are working shifts so they can cope with the demands of taking care of their twins.
Despite her taxing schedule, supermom J-lo will be back to work soon.
Anthony told the press, "She's such an amazing mom and I'm so proud of her. She's such a gem to watch… she has three movies lined up and she's eager to go back to work, but the babies have been a blessing all the way around and she's just amazing."
Brangelina twins not yet born
Hollywood star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie began settling into their new home in the south of France as a report that Angelina Jolie's twins had been born was denied by Brad Pitt's manager.
Television Tabloid 'Entertainment Tonight' first reported on its Web site last week that the actress had given birth in France only to be debunked by Pitt's representative saying, "We have no comment except the story is not true."
Brangelina currently have four children: 6-year-old Maddox, 4-year-old Pax, and 3-year-old Zahara, who are adopted, and 2-year-old Shiloh. Jolie has said previously that her twins are due in August.
In another interview, the couple said that despite their growing brood, the Hollywood heavy-hitters have never enlisted the help of a governess or yaya. However, with the expectancy of two more Jolie-Pitts on the way, Jolie admitted that this sentiment might have to change, but for now… it's still "no nanny" for their large family.
