This was shot at the house of Alejandro Sanz' house.
At least looks like it's shot back then, judging on the look. |

This is a video for "Market America", a dubious at best business | #10 | ||

too bad Jen & Marc got sucked into making that promotional video for Market America :-( which is a dubious business scheme at best:

MrsMuniz wrote: Had you read it thoroughly, you' would've seen that it was NOT ruled a scam. Market America is owned by their friends, the Ridingers. Jen and Marc stay at their house in Miami and performed at their Super Bowl party, and they
(Market America) sponsored CAUM (the show).

Uh ?! I'm not talking about a justice decision here, ruled or not ruled a scam is not the question. The matter is that Market America is and remains a bad
experience for a lot of people. The simple fact that there is a website setup by the company to dispel what people who had a bad experience involved with them
say should be a red flag right there. Market America is very careful and doesn't do anything that is not illegal (hence the favorable judgement in their
favor) but they're for sure working the system. Do a simple Google search with ["market america" mlm] (standing for multi level marketing) and
make your own opinion.
But back to my point, I'm not talking about the company itself but how Jen & Marc got into doing that promotional video. The Ridingers are the ones who started it after James Ridinger quit another highly controversial similar company he was working for: Amway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amway). They are friends and I think Jen & Marc did that video for them as friends, to help them you know, but in my own opinion, they would have done better to stay out of that and stick to what they're known and loved for, entertainment. |

MrsMuniz wrote: You said it was a doubtful business scheme and pointed to a website that was trying to deduce whether or not it's a scam. Lots of companies have issues
with negative websites and bad PR. Dell, GE and The Gap are prime examples.
I think they got involved because they are friends and like I mentioned before, they do stuff back and forth for each other business-wise. |

Yep, I don't deny that they got involved because they are friends, nothing wrong with helping friends, that's great actually, but I stand by my
opinion, that company itself (not Jen & Marc of course) is a shady business at best, not illegal, but shady, and yes, I understand that a lot of companies
have very strong and legitimate detractors, you forgot for instance Nike and their sweatshops, Walmart with their non union stance and destruction of small
competitors etc etc, so yes, you will find a LOT of people disgruntled at a lot of businesses, but the key difference here is that Market America is a multi
level marketing type of business, unlike all the other business aforementioned, where the main goal is to sell a product. I won't go into details and bore
everybody with the specifics, after all we're on a Jen's fan forum not an economics one but with Market America, you sell the idea of the company
itself, the main goal is recruitment of other sellers to work for you, and the actual physical products (the soap, vitamins etc) are a by-product of the whole
idea.
And about my previous link, here's a segment from the newsmagazine Dateline NBC, so I assume their did their homework and it's pretty accurate, explaining how businesses like that work, here in their 1 year long investigation, Quixtar is explained in details (which is the new name for Amway btw, the company Jen & Marc's friend, Mr Ridinger, worked for before he started Market America, so again, yeah, I know, not the same company but working on pretty much the same principles) http://cpserverp4.com/bo/dateline_quixtar.wmv Ok, enough of that myself, nobody is wrong you know, I'm not putting anybody on the spot or pointing fingers, don't get me wrong, we can go ad nauseam with topics like that, but I'd rather myself go back to reading about Jen and her other initiatives such as her perfumes, movies and albums ;-) |

It's just a video. I'm sure Jen and Marc know all about the company and apparently didn't have a problem doing the video. I don't think they got sucked into anything. I think posting that article about a scam makes it look like they are involved in something they should not because it's not legit and that's not the case. |
