Posts: 1360 07/05/08 1:32 PM Best Banner Creator '08	I was just thinking about how from a business kind of view it's very possible that Epic will release a megamix as the first single from the album. In first place because Jen probably won't promote the single as much because of her priorities at this time. A new song without heavy promotion would only cause the song the flop and Jen to be known more as a 'has been,' with another failed 'comeback. A megamix on the other won't be seen as a 'comeback', which would leave the option open to really plan a huge comeback when she's ready. Secondly it would be cheaper for Epic to release, no need for expensive video etc... And thirdly it will let people know a greatest hits album is coming up without having to promote it as much as a greatest hits. Why do they make an album, if they don't want to promote it? Just don't release it! You never work on something hoping or believing that it will fail. You try your hardest and do the best you can do with what you have to work with. If it works out, awesome. If not, you try again. Janet was EVERYWHERE and she still flopped. It's a tough time for record companies now, too. They don't have the money to continue to support albums if the first single doesn't work out. Plus, I think Sony is still wondering what they can do now that they got in trouble for payola, lol.

So, I prefer Jen that Jen doesn't do any album for while, she can dedicate her time to her personal life and movie career, that's fine..And then, in the right time, she comeback, with a brand new album, promos, big hits, great sales, much success.

Yes times are difficult BUT other people have been given more chances. It is interesting that Shakira is leaving Sony-BMG. She is on the same sub-label as Jen (Epic), so they would have the same label management. The fact that she is moving shows she doesn't think Epic are doing the best deal for her and she has had a lot of support. I bet Sony are sad to see her go. They should concentrate on big artists they have left like Jen. Use the G.Hits as an opportunity to show they are really behind her music career or they may find Jen will leave as well.

And despite all that, has Nicole had a hit? NO. Obviously, if a record company head believes in you, things are much easier for you. Someone new might be given more chances because there's a lot of room for the to improve AND they're much cheaper to work with. They don't require multi-million dollar videos, expensive photo shoots, etc. All before an album has earned back a penny. It's business, guys! I understand, but they've failed since Rebirth and trying again. CAUM did great, with QH, but it could've done better, we al know that. And if they had made a good video for DIW, which it didn't happen, Brave would've done better in sales, charts, etc.. If you want something to work out, you have to be prepared and work as hard as you can, to get where you want. But they gave up too early. But it's not like they made the DIW video thinking it would suck. These things just happen. You can't predict them. To have a hit, you need everything to fall into place perfectly and you need A LOT of luck. CAUM didn't meet expectations, so rather than continue to pour money into it, they let it go. Same for Rebirth and Brave. Record companies can't afford to keep failing projects afloat. It will not be easy for Jennifer to break into music again. Now that radio stations are refusing to play her, she has a HUGE problem. Because ClearChannel pretty much decides who's going to be popular and who isn't. My point is, that you guys all talk about this as if it's easy. When, really, it's extremely complex, expensive, and difficult to do.

Its really sad that Jen worked YEARS for the Spanish album,and she made only promotion for ONE WEEK. And second single came after 6 months. Because ClearChannel pretty much decides who's going to be popular and who isn't. yeah it's gonna be extremely hard for her to have a successfully come back, she's not considered relevant for many people, public and in the business. She may surprise but with what she show with Rebirth and Brave who were in her own word really different i doubt it.
