of the Loius) despised bathing, and, it is known as well that king James the First of England never ever washed himself. I read that some rulers (French, if I
remember correctly) even forbade bathing and executed their servants when they found them clean. They didn't even allowed women to bathe when they had
their periods, only to wipe themselves with towels.
