You're welcome everybody! We've had a blast putting it together and seeing it make it into Jen's hands!

Here's how it happened:

JUL 24 - Jen's bday!! I fly into JFK and do a bit of sightseeing. I have a cheesecake in Jen's honor!

JUL 25 - 'El Cantante' Screening - Although I'm staying right across the street from the theater where they're having the screening, I manage to get there too late to be let in! No screening for me. Heather, twin sister, and brother don't get into NYC in time to go either. The line was like a mile long! (Heather's add: Yep, we got in too late, but we did see the line and stood in it for about 15 minutes even though it was past the time the movie was gonna start. We did, however, witness a woman describing Hector Lavoe as "John Elton" to white people because "they wouldn't get it otherwise" She meant "Elton John".)

JUL 26 - Heather, sis, and bro camp out since 5:45am? (Heather's note: 5:30!) to get stand-by tickets for the Regis & Kelly show. I get there around 6am. With all the excitement of Jen's arrival we manage to almost miss the lady handing out the standby numbers!! Time ticks by, and as I'm walking towards the other side of the building I hear big commotion - Jennifer has arrived!! Ms. Diva (as a production guy referred to Jen when asked whether she'd come in through to the studio) glides in through the FRONT DOOR!! I manage to miss that too! Heather got a good glimpse right? (Heather's note: Yep! I saw her! I was standing in line showing the book to the woman next to us, when I saw the paparazzi closing in for the kill, so I snatched the book and ran up to the front, yelling "JENNIFER!!!" She didn't hear, though, and went right in.

Now we just wait and pray we'll be let in for the show. Only TWO people are let in..which is okay because they happened to be big J.Lo fans who had camped out since 1:30am. It's a waiting game from now until she leaves. Her Maybach is parked right out in front so we know exactly where we need to position ourselves for the delivery.

Of course we chat it up with Jen's driver and her personal assistant as she's grabbing some Starbucks across the street. They're both VERY sweet and say that although tough we should be able to get Jen the book.

People start swarming around the front entrance. In a matter of a couple minutes they set up barricades leading all the way up to Jen's car door. It's only a matter of seconds now! Heather is perfectly positioned right next to the car door with the book. The plan is to hand it directly to Jen at that time. The flashbulbs start going off! It's Jen- only a few inches away from us! She signs autographs for a few people and makes her way towards the car. She stops right before getting in, looks straight at the book and reaches for it! (Heather's note: Her hand was SO CLOSE!) Exhibit A!!


THEN A MONKEY GUARD nearly slaps the book out of Heather's hand and blocks us!! Jen gets in. They drive away!! Plan A fails! At this time we know the next opportunity we'll have is at the Premiere. So, we plan on meeting up hours before the red carpet to once again position ourselves.

Heather, sis, and bro arrive around 3:30ish? (Heather's note: Yup!)They've got great spots for the delivery. Although...when I get there the red carpet is across from them. By the time the press and everybody is there. It's looking as though Jennifer and Marc will not be arriving where we were standing. I get out from the barricade area (it's like 90 degrees and complete humidity y'all!!) and walk up back and forth...once again the monkey guards want to keep it moving. I meet this woman who says she's friends with the 'Santera' in the film. She seems to know what she's doing so I follow her around. We find perfect spots on top of a construction beam. LOL...but only minutes before Jen arrives we are nearly pushed off and told to keep it moving! So, I do and of course miss Jen's arrival!! (Heather's note: We stood around with all the big fans in the barricades and then didn't end up seeing anything! I saw Jen's hair! lol After all those hours! For Jennifer, I stood at the premiere for 4 1/2 hours straight and walked miles around NYC in the most uncomfortable heels ever! )

It's looking sad by now...we're standing around like hungry puppies just waiting for a chance!! Too late, Jen's inside and the movie is being shown. *sigh* We feel defeated! We sit down for a while and decide on whether or not we'll wait around for her to leave, take off and go wait at the after-party, or just give up!

We decide on getting some food. Time passes by, we start seeing people leave the theater. Heather and fam go their own way, my hubby and I go another. But just like a ray of light, I spot Jen's Maybach! Plan is ON!! (Heather's note: Erika was perfectly positioned in a restaurant with a huge window conveniently overlooking the area. )

I don't even touch my food, I'm just patiently waiting across the street watching over Jen's car. We spot her driver, some guards... About 2 hours from when the show started the begin setting up barricades again in the front of the theater. This is it!! We're not giving up!
We all meet up once again and try to get into position. Once again we get pushed around, told to move here, move there...uGHHHHH!! Screw this! We walk into the theater and wait around. I spot the lady I met hours before and she's wearing a wristband!! SHE GOT LET IN!! If I had only waited with her!!!

Just as I'm feeling like the idiot I am...we spot Jen's BFFs..a few seconds later...Lynda Lopez and Lupe!!! We move in for the kill! Heather approaches Lynda and tells her we made a book for Jennifer. Lynda grabs it and says "oh..yeah I'll give it to her. I'm seeing her in just a minute." She walks away with the book! At this point we don't know whether we fugged it up or what!! Again, all we can do is hope and pray Lynda will be our gal! She also tells us Jennifer has left the building. (Heather's note: I held it up to show Lynda and told her we'd been trying to get it to Jennifer all day. Lynda just kinda grabbed the book and walked. We kinda stood there for a few seconds like, and then we were like, . We followed Lynda out and made sure she still had it, lol. I don't know why, but I had to be sure, lol. She and her people got into their car and drove to the party. We ran in to Jen's mom, too. Erika talked to her for a sec, told her we were fans, blah, blah. She said "thank you" and then her handlers came and got her, lol.)

We're running on a high at that moment and decide to follow behind a bunch of people who are walking to the after-party a few blocks away. We've got nothing to lose right about now..well Heather was loosing her mind walking on heels all the way down...

When we finally make it..I see 'my friend' standing by the roped off section. She tells us Jen & Marc have already gone in!

Soooooooooo....nothing else to do now but walk the walk of shame back to the hotel...
We're so beat by now...we have no clue if we'll make it to the Today Show the next morning. I kinda just want to hop a plane back home! lol (Heather's note: Ditto! I was so sad!)

JUL 27 - Today Show - at 5:45am I'm still debating whether or not to get up and go. I've been going on like 3 or 4 hours of sleep the last three days...but I get up and go since this could be my last chance to see Jen is she goes. The show was fun...but I'm sad not to see Jen there. I wait around and follow some Marc fans to a side door...lol hoping for a better glimpse. Just then, I see Heather and fam walk up. They decide not to wait, and I leave a few minutes after. A phone call comes in. It's our Samantha!! lol She tells me she saw the book at the afterparty!! My jaw hits the ground!

Samantha tells me the book was sitting on the floor right next to Jen's mom!! I'm about dying as she tells me this. We talk for a few more minutes and hang up. A few moments later she calls back...with OMG!! There's a picture of Jennifer WITH THE BOOK!!
