Anyway I just wanted to ask about 'I'm Gonna Be Alright'.
I know the original version had 50 cent on it, do you guys know the reason why Nas wound up on the record?

most likely to stowaway on jen's tour bus '09 admin most likely to accidentally delete the entire board '09 "The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it's how you recover when you fall." |
I have no idea. Is there a leaked version of the 50 cent one? And whatever happened to that Bono duet?

No, I think Jen mentioned it in an interview. But maybe it's not a duet but more of a charity song with several artists. And the one on the J.Lo album is
the 50 cent version?

jamesuk2 wrote:Sony had signed 50 Cent before he was famous, they threw him on the "Im Gonna Be Alright" remix to promote him, get him exposure, and it was cheap. Once word got to Ja Rule and Irv Gotti, whom were enjoying their smash success with Murder Inc. and JLo's "I'm Real" & "Aint It Funny" remix, Irv Gotti flipped out. Irv and Ja Rule HATE 50 Cent, so they called Sony or Jen threatening them to remove 50 Cent off the remix (but it was too late 50 Cent made it on the "J to the L-O" final album) and threatened them that they better not put 50 Cent on the video or single, so Sony and Jennifer replaced 50 Cent last minute with Nas, in which Nas was currently recording some stuff with Murder Inc. at that time as well, after the hit single (wasn't a smash) was released 50 Cent got shot up (supposedly by Murder Inc's people) or something and then got dropped by Sony B But Karma came back and ate up Ja Rule (he has no career now) and Jennifer (Rebirth debuted at #2, which would have been #1, but 50 Cent moved his album down to Jennifer's "Rebirth" album date causing "Rebirth" to look like a flop comparted to his numbers - 50 sold almost a million in a week, Jen sold a little over 200,000), so Jen has been struggling ever since Rebirth and 50 Cent vowed that he would end Ja Rule and anyone that worked with Ja Rule. And well Jen's not really over, but hasn't had a smash since "All I Have" which was many years ago

Admit it! But I hope Jen will get it together on the next album, especially since she will have had the baby/babies by then and back in shape to kick butt. We'll see.... |

jamesuk2 wrote: Yes, a great man named TOMMY MOTTOLLA was head of Sony Music at that time, and had access to Mariah's project at that time (the tragic Glitter), Tommy overheard a duet Mariah did with Ja Rule, and quickly called up Irv Gotti to request a duet with Ja and Jennifer like he did for Mariah, not only that but Jennifer's people/Tommy got the rights to use the very same sample that Mariah was going to use for her first single for Glitter, so Jen's "I"m Real" was born, here's Mariah's version with the same "I'm Real" beat on 0:18: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uHEfsqikEPs Jennifer beat Mariah to the punch, "I'm Real" remix was a huge smash, Ja & Jennifer collaborated again and created another huge smash "Aint It Funny" Remix, all this was going on while Mariah was going through a public breakdown, Glitter the movie and album tanked, Luis Miguel broke up with Mariah, it basically rained for MooMoo. |

Yeah maybe.Yeah it was a duet with Jen and Bono she was really excited about it she mentionned it several time during the Maid in Manhattan promo. here is an article COUPLED: With her duet with rapper LL Cool J, "All I Have," perched comfortably at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, J.Lo revealed during an online chat that she already has a new duet with U2 frontman Bono in the can, Launch.com reports. "I did a song with Bono and haven't released it yet," the mogul/diva said. "We were waiting for the right timing to release it. It would be great if that saw the light of day one day." J.Lo also said that she would like to do a duet with British R&B sensation Craig David. They were suppose to perfom it at the Superbowl it was a song about AIDS. No, the winner here is clear: the NFL for refusing to allow Bono of the rock group U2 to sing a duet with Jennifer Lopez about the problem of AIDS in America. Never mind that Bono was a show stopper in the post-9/11 halftime show two years ago. The NFL says Super Bowl off-field activities should be about entertainment not "single issues." Now, let's get this straight. Pimp Juice, exposed breasts, the N-word, and violence are O.K., but J Lo and Bono trying to raise awareness about the scourge of AIDS is off limits? Hmmm. Nice call, NFL. |

I thought the reason 50's version of IGBA was shelved was because he got shot 9 times before it could be released.
