We're dedicating a thread towards the circulation of music between us members. If you'd like to request a song or an album to download then post them in here.

If you have songs or albums to upload it's quite easy.

1. For albums, zip the songs into a single zip file.
... If you don't have winzip or winrar, you can download winzip for free here: www.download.com/3000-2250-10003164.html or winrar here: www.download.com/3000-2250-10007677.html or here: www.rarlab.com/

... You can upload the separate songs if that works better for you, but it's usually easier to deal with one file.
Note: If the songs are on a CD, they'll need to be ripped onto your computer first. If you don't know how to do this, please ask since it depends on what kind of computer/software you have.

2. Upload your file(s)
... pick an upload site (see below)
... to use just open the site, browse to the file you're uploading, provide an optional email address if you want the link sent to you, and click to send. When it's done, they'll give you a link to your file.

3. Post the link here.

It's that easy.

Upload Sites

... sites you can try are www.yousendit.com/ which only lasts 7 days, www.megaupload.com/ which tends to take a long time to download so people complain, rapidshare.de/ which doesn't work for some people, and sendspace.com/ which is my current favorite because you can track how many times each file has been downloaded. For that feature you have to register.

Other sites I've seen but don't know anything about: www.rapidupload.com/www.bigupload.com/www.sendmefile.com/

A few comments about rapidshare...
It's a nice upload site for many, but can be confusing to use. If you have problems downloading from them, please check this out before giving up.

Rapidshare should work this way:
1. On the first screen, click on "Free"
2. On the second screen, wait for the countdown midway down the page.
3. When it comes up with "No premium-user. Please enter XYZ here:" followed by a box, you enter the 3 funny-looking letters in the box. Then click on the Download button.

Note: you have to do these steps fairly quickly after the countdown finishes, otherwise it tells you that the download session is invalid and you have to start over. You can't go do something else for five minutes and then come back to it.

Other than those steps, sometimes rapidshare has issues with IP addresses. They have an hourly download limit per IP address, which is a problem if your Internet Service Provider re-uses IP's. Or if you've downloaded the limit yourself, just wait until the hour is up.

Worst case, some ISP's just don't work with rapidshare. You can get a premium membership to solve the problem, or ask for the file to be uploaded elsewhere.

A Note About Sendspace:

When sendspace says "No Download Slots Available", it just means their server is temporarily busy. It frequently works on the second or third (or tenth) try. If it's taking longer, maybe try again in an hour or so.

If you have any questions or comments about this thread then please ask. I have little to no knowledge when it comes to uploading music but I'm sure any BB member will try their best to help you in your quest for your answer.

If you can think of a way of improving this thread then feel free to comment. There is no such thing as a stupid comment/question.

Also, please be courteous and thank the person that uploaded the music since it is time consuming and they really don't have to do this.
