Jennifer Lopez has everything! A successful carreer, a cute boyfriend, an amazing skin and two adorable babies; Emme and Max. Jennifer has also developed a new fragrance, Deseo by Jennifer Lopez, and Beau Monde was there when the new scent was introduced in New York.
The tension rises when we [Beau Monde] are being lined up in a small hallway leading to the penthouse on the upperfloor of the Royalton Hotel. Instructions follow, do's and don'ts are being instructed and - oh no! - we aren't allowed to take any pictures. The journalist for People Magazine - who has interviewed her about five times before - confesses that she is extremely nervous.
Suddenly a door opens and we shake hands with Jennifer Lopez. She is sitting on an huge sofa in an oversized grey, woollen dress. She is wearing brand new
Christian Louboutins. This woman is born with 'star quality'. She is looking gorgeous with her radient skin and lovely styled ponytail. The stuffed
animals we bought for her disappear in her bag. She confesses that she is a little tired after a long day as this one, but thankfully she has enough energy
left to do the interview.
You were one of the first celebrities to have it's own fragrance. Glow; which was very successful, with many more to come. Deseo is your eight
one. Why did you decide to release a new one?
"It was time. Deseo is very different from the fragrances that we have done before. Scents have started this evolution. We have entered a new fase. It
just happened naturally. The fragrance is much more toned down and balanced. The bottle is very different as well. I am really happy with it."
What is the first fragrance you have ever smelled?
"It was my fathers cologne, Old Spice. You don't smell it that much nowadays but if I do, all those sweet old memories come back. That's the
greatest thing about fragrances."

Deseo means Desire. What are the desires in your life?
"I have so many! My whole life is about desires. It's the desire to always do something else, to keep on growing, to keep creating new things. For
example, I will never stop dreaming about the things that I still want to do in my life. I will always do that."
Singer, actress, dancer, business woman… What more can we expect from you?
"I constantly think about new things that I can do in my life. But I never know beforehand what I find challenging enough for me. I am doing what comes
naturally. A person can do a lot of different things and still be successful in all of them."
What are your beauty secrets? Are there any products that you could not imagine not to use?
"I cannot imagine myself without sun cream! I do not use a lot of make-up when I am not working. I love bathing products on oil-basis and body lotions. If
a product includes oil then I'll put it on my skin. And from time to time I will take a massage. I just love it! I do the usual things like everyone does
to stay in shape. Like a workout in the gym and I really like to jog! Preferably with a personal trainer who can push me to keep going on."
Is there something that we still need to know about Jennifer?
"I have no idea! I have given a million of interviews. I do not think I have any secrets left. Not anymore! I think that everyone - including you guys -
already know everything about me"
Have you truly been involved with the process of developing this fragrance?
"Yes, a lot! I have been actively involved with the developing process of every fragrance that I have made so far. It's all about our ideas, the
developing and the endless possibilities, the campaign. Everything that is needed when developing your own fragrance."
Do you test the fragrance on your friends?
"Of course I do! I test the fragrance on the ladies at our office but also in my close group of friends. You just have to - it's a must! - to see if
everyone's response is enthusiastic. It's so lovely to work with Catherine (of Coty International) as well. We do not do everything in steps, we pay
attention to every tiny little detail. Sometimes the bottle doesn't go well with the scent or the name [of the scent] isn't good enough. This and
hundreds of other things come have to come to the attention, and you are the one to have the final word on it. It's a big challenge I can assure
you."

What do you feel like, is the the biggest success in your career?
"Oh, a lot of things… It was so crazy! When I think about it, my first album, my first movie, my first nomination, my first fragrance. Everything's
just so surreal but I did work hard for it."
What is your ultimate styling tip?
"That's very personal for everyone. You can look stylish in every situation. You do not have to be a 'fashion-addict'. There are a lot of ways
to look good. Everyone has to have their own style. Of course magazines tell you what and what not to wear. But I have my own style."
What is your latest project?
"It's a fragrance for men. I am already working hard on it and it's going to be amazing. Very arousing, sexy and sensual…"
What fragrance do you like the most on your own husband?
"Marc isn't really a fragrance fan. But he does think it's sexy when I wear a scent. And he really loves my upcoming men's fragrance. He
absolutely loves it!"
